Three Cups of Tea

This is the newest book I am reading. I am enjoying it so much that I decided it would be fun to do a book club with it. I have never done a book club in my life (mostly because I don't have much time to read anymore) but I think it would be something fun to do since it is so cold outside and everyone is secluded in their homes. I was hoping to have the book read by the 14th of February and have the book club night sometime that week. If you are interested please let me know. Feel free to tell anyone you think might want to join in that they are welcome. The more the merrier!

Here is the synopsis for the book:

The astonishing, uplifting story of a real-life Indiana Jones and his humanitarian campaign to use education to combat terrorism in the Taliban's backyard
Anyone who despairs of the individual's power to change lives has to read the story of Greg Mortenson, a homeless mountaineer who, following a 1993 climb of Pakistan's treacherous K2, was inspired by a chance encounter with impoverished mountain villagers and promised to build them a school. Over the next decade he built fifty-five schools-especially for girls-that offer a balanced education in one of the most isolated and dangerous regions on earth. As it chronicles Mortenson's quest, which has brought him into conflict with both enraged Islamists and uncomprehending Americans, Three Cups of Tea combines adventure with a celebration of the humanitarian spirit.

Meridith! I am SO happy to hear from you!!! And don't worry, I love blog stalking too!! I am about to email you, but I wanted to say I think a book club sounds like a lot of fun...I'm secretly jealous of people who are in them! My husband has class 3 nights a week, so it would be fun to have something else to do once in awhile! Plus I could catch up with you. We can talk more via email! Yay for blogs getting people back in touch!

Great book! I read it a few months ago and it was awesome. It shows the influence one person can have. I would join the club but Orem is a ways from Seattle:)
