SLIP 'N SLIDE....

Last week we had an end of Summer Slip 'n Slide party with the Knights. What a blast!!! The kids (especially Maddy) had soooo much fun. We had everyone taking turns to slide down and in between everyone Maddy would run up and say "my turn!" and slide right down. That girl is seriously hilarious. She is so in her own little world and not afraid at all to get what she wants. I hope she keeps that up when she's older! We had a fun Summer but it went by way too fast. We are looking forward to all the fun FALL activities and having our first Christmas in our first HOME together!

First Day of First Grade

Today was the first official day of first grade! I must admit I was kind of sad thinking about Hailey being gone all day. I thought I would be all emotional and crying like I was last year for kindergarten. But, strangely enough I was so excited for her when I woke her up this morning. Hailey is usually pretty grumpy and onry when I have to wake her up, but this morning as soon as I said, "it's time to get ready for school!"....she popped out of bed like she was in a race and started pulling on her carefully laid out clothes for the special day. She is such a giggly little girl when she is excited. She just started bouncing around the house. We got her dressed, did her hair, ate her favorite breakfast of Maple and Brown Sugar Oatmeal (what kid loves oatmeal) and then took a few pics. Then a knock at the door, her best friend Taylor Knight coming to tell her it was time to go wait for the bus. Heather and I walked to the bus stop with them and took more pictures and then they were off! Bronson, Maddy, Heather, and I got in the car and went to school to take even more pictures...Hailey was so embarassed! We walked to the classroom and just like last year Hailey sits right down at her desk, makes herself acquainted with the kids around her, and then looks at me like...."aren't you suppose to be somewhere!' So a quick picture at her desk and we were off! I couldn't help but feel so excited for her and all the possibilities that lie ahead for her. What a great morning!

Julie & Julia

Last night Kami, Heather, and myself went and saw Julie & Julia. I had heard so many great things about this movie, and coming from a family who loves to cook...I was dying to see it. I must say, with all the hype from people commenting on their blogs and such, it TOTALLY lived up to all my expectations! It was a great movie. Kind of a different movie, but LOVED it. Meryl Streep was so Julia Child. She had it down so well. And I am such a huge fan of Amy Adams who was endearing and hilarious in this movie. So many times I related myself to her character in the movie and all the sobbing meltdowns, and wanting to give up. There was a cute love story in each of the main characters lives which made it all the more better. I was thinking of my sister the whole movie wondering if she was laughing as hard as I was at all the cooking disasters. So, I guess I am joining the bandwagon of people raving about this movie....A+!!!!!

BEAR LAKE FUN
